Steve and Kristi were childhood sweethearts. Their love story began many years ago when they first met at their friend’s older brother’s birthday party. From the moment they met, Steve and Kristi were absolutely smitten with each other and started dating when they were just 15 years old.
On Valentine’s Day last year, Steve surprised Kristi and took her on a hot air balloon ride; something she had always wanted to do. They started the journey very early in the morning to watch the sun rise and it was absolutely freezing. When Kristi had felt that Steve had stopped cuddling with her to keep warm, she turned around to see that he was down on one knee with a stunning engagement ring gleaming up at her. Kristi and Steve started their magical day with the wedding ceremony at a historic gothic style church. Blumenthal Photography was there to capture every enchanting moment.
The couple chose the Ivy Merivale in Sydney for their wedding venue because they loved the space and wanted a facility that would be welcoming to all of their guests and elaborate decor. They had done a lot of research and venue visits, but once they stumbled upon the Ivy, they knew it would be perfect for their dream wedding.
For Kristi, she really wanted her guests to be blown away by all the glitz and glamour of her big day. The venue was adorned with thousands of flowers, hundreds of candles, and gold accents that created a masterpiece that was incomparable and unforgettable. She had a dream come true when she wore a big princess dress at her ceremony, and changed into a gorgeous gold fitted dress for the reception and cutting of the cake.
The entire wedding day was truly glamorous. The contrast of lustrous gold accents with different shades of luscious reds created a theme of elegance that was straight out of a grown-up fairytale.
What made the wedding day truly special for Kristi and Steve was their first dance together as a married couple. Neither of the two had much ballroom dancing experience, so they had taken private lessons for a few weeks to prepare for their dance floor debut. Kristi’s nerves fluttered as she stepped onto the dance floor, but as soon as they started twirling together, she was having so much fun with Steve that she was relaxed before she knew it.
Steve and Kristi went to Hawaii for their honeymoon where they spent two weeks at the Hilton in Honolulu, sipping on cocktails everyday and doing way too much shopping for their own good. It felt so wonderful to relax and enjoy a vacation together since the two of them hadn’t been on a proper holiday together for a few years. They had an amazing time away together, as they were finally able to relax without needing to stress about any wedding details.
Kristi’s words of wisdoms to future brides and grooms are to take a deep breath and enjoy yourself on your wedding day! The whole day flies by so quickly that you don’t want to spend it stressing about minor details that may or may not go wrong. Your bridesmaids and groomsmen are there to help you, so take advantage of that and relax! If there’s anything that they can do to help, ask them so that you can have one less thing on your mind and really embrace the day!
