A Dream Wedding in Nantucket

Tom and Fontaine met while they lived in the same building in San Francisco. They finally met one night when Fontaine and her roommate invited their new neighbors up to their apartment for a bite to eat. The night came to an end when the fire department showed up in response to a fire alarm that had gone off from their cooking. After that fiasco, Tom asked Fontaine to join him for coffee at the bakery down the street the next day. They spent hours talking about their love of adventure, and sharing their stories of travel and wanderlust.

Fontaine mentioned she had always wanted to go camping, but had never been. Tom made a promise on a whim and, a few months later, took Fontaine on a camping trip where the two had so much fun together. This was an important trip for the two of them and was when Fontaine realized that she didn’t want the adventures with Tom to end. Since then, the two of them have shared many wonderful adventures. On their wedding day in September of 2015, Tom and Fontaine form a bond of eternal adventures together, with Katie Kaizer Photography there to capture every fantastic moment.

Nantucket was a very meaningful place for Tom and Fontaine and was the perfect location to have their wedding. Fontaine’s parents were also married on Nantucket Island and she spent many summers there as a young girl, so it had a special place in her heart. Being such a big part of who she is, Fontaine knew she wanted to share it with Tom. After making memories in Nantucket together, it has become their favorite place to visit (even though they have traveled far and wide across the world) and was the perfect place for their wedding.

Their wedding ceremony took place right on the harbor of the beautiful East coast beach, under clear blue skies with gorgeous boats passing by on the water and an acoustic guitar player singing melodic, calming tunes. It was a day that was everything they had ever wanted. With breathtaking views of the ocean, the guests enjoyed the dream team of local food, flowers, and music.

What made the day so extraordinarily special for Tom and Fontaine was being able to have Tom’s cousin, Joe, marry the two of them as the officiant. Joe did a wonderful job at uniting all the friends of the bride and groom who had come from many different places and many of whom had not met each other before. In the middle of the ceremony, Joe had all of the couple’s loved ones place their hands on their shoulders. This touching moment created a feeling of immense love and support for Fontaine and Tom and their journey together.

Fontaine recalls a specific memory their wedding day, when she took a moment to look around the room at all her guests. She realized that all the seats were empty: everyone was up, mingling with one another, enjoying each other’s company, dancing, laughing, and having a wonderful time. Fontaine was overjoyed with happiness that warmed her heart. “To have all of our favorite people come together in one room and meet each other meant the world to us”, Fontaine mentioned.
